• 40’s era Women’s Jumpsuits: Button-up jumpsuits with point collars, patch pockets, belted waists, and utility style was inspired by Rosie the Riveter circa 1943. Denim jumpsuits and nautical-inspired striped jumpsuits with long blouson sleeves are also a timeless staple of 1940s women’s jumpsuits. Pintuck detailing, pinafore jumpsuits, and wide-leg jumpsuits were becoming all the rage during this era. 

• 50’s era Women’s Jumpsuits: Rockabilly style began influencing fashion in the 1950’s, and the breezy cropped jumpsuit, jumpsuits with sassy cut-outs, sleeveless jumpsuits, and halter top jumpsuits with open back designs have been stealing hearts ever since. Belted playsuits, sleeveless rompers with lapel collars and playful prints were super chic daytime ensembles during the fun fifties.

• 60’s era Women’s Jumpsuits: In the 1960’s, silk jumpsuits, velvet jumpsuits, and velour jumpsuits in vibrant colors became mainstream. Wide-leg jumpsuits went WAY wide, and jumpsuits with plunging necklines and bold floral prints hit the dance floor. Gingham playsuits and plaid rompers with sweetheart necklines were the way to be beach-ready during the sixties. 

• 70’s era Women’s Jumpsuits: The 1970s disco fashion era seems like it was made for sparkling sequin jumpsuits, metallic jumpsuits, velvet jumpsuits, and jumpsuits with bell bottoms and psychedelic prints. Tie-waist jumpsuits, and belted jumpsuits were also a mainstay for this iconic fashion era. Floral print playsuits and sleeveless rompers made for a stylish day look in the seventies. 

• 80’s era Women’s Jumpsuits:  Vibrant neon knit jumpsuits with harem-style pants gained popularity in the 80’s, and jumpsuits with puff sleeves, ruffles, and lapel collars were perfect for the modern working woman. Denim jumpsuits with a retro parachute vibe was very fashion forward. Playsuits and rompers in the 80’s were often accompanied with tie-waist detailing, and stylish lapel collars. • 90’s era Women’s Jumpsuits:  Utility-style jumpsuits made a comeback in the nineties along with denim overalls.
