Too long & too expensive

"Don’t get me wrong I think the dress is beautiful but like others who are short like me ( and I’m even shorter at barely under 5 ft) it basically means for me that right towards the bottom at that last tier where the ribbon separates the two prints is where I’d have to have it hemmed. Which makes it no fun. I’m thinking about finding an expert who can put that last tier back in but also remove from the length. This type of altering isn’t cheap so it’s unfortunate that the dress is already so expensive but worse for us shorties who have to pay extra for alterations. I wish ModCloth would offer petite sizes for their maxi dresses. Oh and like another person said, this one also bunches up by my tailbone due to the zipper being so long. The dress runs a little big. I feel like the zipper wasn’t even necessary or if so, it didn’t need to be so long because it really makes the backside look weird and bunched up unless you strategically tuck it to one side."

Dream Dress

"I love the detail on this dress! The unicorn fabrics is so unique and subtle for a print featuring our magical friend."

Go for it if you're tall 😩

"I want to love this dress, but it needs work to fit my 5'4" frame. It's made for someone at 6'. I'm currently undecided if I want to return or take it to a tailor. I knew I'd have to get it hemmed (I didn't think I'd need to remove so much, though), and I would also need to have the zipper replaced. The zipper is very long and thick and creates a big bump at my tailbone since I don't meet the height requirements. It is pretty ❤️ I was also disappointed that the dress cost so much but was rolled up in a ball and over packaged with a lot of tape. Y'all can do better than that."

Faulty zipper

"Love the overall look of this dress but unfortunately the dress I received has a faulty zipper I think in part due to the large amount of material where the waist is - ribbon and fabric so even off my body it's difficult to zip up. That being said it's a lovely dress. I ordered another one to see if maybe it's just the one dress that's the issue. Fingers crossed because it is SO pretty. Maybe runs a tad small in the waist but large in the chest?"

Cute but beware if petite

"This dress is super cute and nicely made. However I think the size chart is not very accurate. I went by my measurements and ordered a large because the dress is 100% cotton and I was worried it would be too small in the chest if I ordered a medium. Knowing how quickly these dresses sell out, I wanted to err on the side of caution. I got my dress in late February. I preordered. So I expected a bit of a wait. When I tried it on it was way too big in the bodice, like several inches too big on the sides. I don’t remember if the item description or size chart noted it but the back panel is shirred elastic and that would have been nice to know because obviously it adds stretch to the dress. I don’t believe the description noted if the dress did or didn’t have any stretch which also could’ve been good to note, especially for people like me who are sometimes between sizes. The dress was also extremely long on me, not just skimming but fully hitting the floor. For reference I am 5’3 1/2 but I have long legs so I often can get by without hemming dresses or pants. By the time I received my dress, they were completely sold out so exchanging for a size down wasn’t an option. Since I was going to have to do a significant amount of hemming anyway, I took it to a seamstress who was able to take in the bodice an hem it for me."

I wanted to love it, but cheap elements stop me

"The main issue at hand is this really wasn't a $250 dress. I appreciate paying for the beautiful design & fabric, but there are so many cheap elements. I can't stand that any dress with a gathered skirt and a fitted waist has a flimsy invisible zipper like this. My dress arrived with there already a rip in the zipper tape at the waist, and that to me was just inevitable. So already I couldn't try it on properly, but even so, the fit was so odd. The adjustable straps & smocking are nice, but the smocking feels a little pointless when the waist is so firm & runs rather tight. I need room in both areas if I'm getting a dress with this much smocking. Honestly, it could also use bit less in the bust, as it ran huge compared to the tight waist. I was falling out of the XL but the waist was too tight to go down. I also don't understand the enormous chunky plastic hardware on the adjustable straps. They sit really awkwardly and the rectangles just end up shifting so the straps are always longer than I adjusted to before putting it on. Straps with O connectors would be so much easier to deal with. I think if this was about $100 cheaper, I could deal with having to hem it (it was also too long for my frame at 5'4"), having to replace the zipper, and having to take the bodice in. But for all those problems, the price is just too much."

Fun print, over priced

"I love this dress. . it is beautiful and fun. It is certainly long, so us petites will have to hem it several inches, which does add on to the cost. I love the print, but it is not $250 luxury. The first Gunne Sax drop was $100 less per dress and honestly even at that price point it was high, but it is designer. I guess what I am saying is, yes it's beautiful but after the hem, this is now a $300 dress, so just weigh it as you need to! I personally feel like I overpaid, but you can be the judge on your end!"
