Runs a size or two small
"I have been buying Modcloth products for about 15 years at this point. I am very familiar with their sizing, and I am solidly a large in most dresses in most brands. In fact, according to the size chart for this item, I am actually in between a medium and a large per my measurements. So, I ordered both this dress and another modcloth label dress at the same time in size large. The other dress? Fits beautifully, a little low cut but no sizing issues. This dress? So small I could not zip it up, and the waist was right underneath my chest like an empire dress (to be fair, I am 5'11"). How are two items of the same brand so drastically different in size? So anyway, I'm returning it, but guess what, they make you pay a return handling fee, so that's fun. Absolutely beautiful pattern, so I'm pretty disappointed."

"Fabric is cute. Cut is extremely unflattering. Underskirt makes the bottom puff out a lot, and top is cut too loose. Combined effect is to make you look larger than you are. Unfortunately bought on final sale, so can't return."
Strange fit
"The pattern is lovely, the sewing high quality, and the fact that the skirt has a built in petticoat is great. My only complaint is that I had to get the shoulders tailored. The size 2 fit my 28 in waist and 34 in bust well (I don't wear bras), but there was 2 in too much fabric at the shoulders. It’s surprising because I don’t usually shop in the petite category or anything, and didn't think my torso was particularly short."
